RAGE
IN THE CAGE SUCCESS
Congratulations
go out to Nic Stone and Luis Lopez in their last cage fights in
the Rage in the Cage event. Luis Lopez made his debut fight on April
20th, 2007 winning by rear naked choke (RNC) in the first round.
Nic Stone came back to win in his fight on June 15th by ankle lock
in the first round after losing his fight on April 20th, 2007. Luis
Lopez is 1-0 in MMA and Nic Stone is 2-1 in MMA competition.
DeBrazil has now upped it's record to 8-2 in Rage the Cage events
with it's new crop of fighters. Congratulations to all the DeBrazil
fighters for training hard and fighting hard.

Diogo Seminar, New belt promotions June 2nd, 2007
Congratulations
to all the students that where promoted this weekend when our instructor
Rey Diogo came down to conduct a great seminar. Rey conducted an
awesome seminar showing techniques with the gi on and off. There
where a lot of new attendees at the seminar and all where happy
with what techniques Rey showed.
Congratulations go out to everyone that worked hard to get to the
next belt level. These belts where not easily given out but they
where earned with a lot of hard work. Here are the promotions as
follows:
Roland Gutierrez and Manuel Flores to brown belt, Jaime Gomez, David
Lopez, and Phillip Aguilar to purple belt, Hector Carpio, Alex Moran,
Nic Stone, and Enrique Duran to blue belt.

Jiu-Jitsu Academy has great showing At Rage In The Cage X-Treme
Fighting show held on September 15th, 2006
Congratulations
go out to Nic Stone and Stevie Maultsby for their performances
in their debut fights. Nic Stone won by unanimous decision over
his opponent. Stevie Maultsby won by tko( referee stoppage) due
to strikes in the third round over his opponent. These guys trained
their hearts out and we look to great things from them in the
future.

DIOGO SEMINAR A BIG SUCCESS !!
SIX
NEW BLUE BELTS PROMOTED!!
The
Rey Diogo seminar held at the DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy on May
6th, 2006 was a big success. It was the biggest seminar to date
at our academy and all the students where thrilled at all the new
techniques they learned from Rey Diogo. Rey Diogo also held a kids
seminar where the kids had a great time training with Rey. There
was also a promotion ceremony held at the end of the seminar, with
six white belts being promoted to blue belts. Congratulations go
out to Kaywan Sapassi, Angie Chiara, Ronald Paul, Paul Cardwell,
Corey Doggett, and Granger Moffett on their promotions to blue belts.
Martin was also promoted to first degree black belt by his instructor
Rey Diogo. Congratulations once again on all the promotions and
we look forward to the next seminar at the end of the year. Here

DAIMYO
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU IMPRESSIVE IN FIRST TOURNAMENT.
Congratulations
to DeBrazil student Jaime Gomez and his students in Oklahoma for
their performance at the Southwest BJJ & Submission Challenge
tournament. Jaime took first place in the blue belt light-heavyweight
division and third place in the advanced no-gi division. Jaime's
students garnered two bronze medals and a silver medal respectively.

You went out there and put it on the line and competed against the

The
DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy held it's first school tourney and it
was a great success. There where many parents,aunts, uncles &
grandparents that came to watch the kids compete who put on a great
show for everyone to see. In the adult competition there where some
great performances put on by beginners and advanced players alike.
Thanks to everyone that helped out in making the tournament a great

NEW
WOMEN'S BJJ CLASS AND NEW BIGGER ACADEMY LOCATION
We
have started a new Women's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class on Tuesday
nights. The class is taught by Jenny Blanco, a purple belt and assistant
instructor at the DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Jenny has competed
in and won many tournaments titles in California. Jenny has a vast
amount of knowledge in Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling and teaching at the
DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
We
have also moved to a new location. The new academy is twice as big
as our old location. Our new academy is located at 1665 E. 18th
Street Suite #102, inside the Tucson Tech Park business complex.
We have a large mat area with plenty of matches going on. See pictures
of our new academy under the picture gallery.

Quest
Congratulations
to the DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy competition team for placing first
place in the Desert Quest Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Championship Tournament
held in Scottsdale, AZ on December 10th, 2005. The team placed first
in the men's gi division and first place in the kids division. Outstanding
performances where turned in by Phillip Aguilar in the adults division
who submitted his three opponents to capture the middleweight blue
belt division and Levi Escobar to win the kids no-gi division.

Carlson
Gracie and his student Rey Diogo put on a great seminar on October
8th,2005. The seminar was a great success as many students commented
how it was so great to meet a master and his pupil. The students
attending really enjoyed the information presented by Carlson Gracie

American Championships 2005

Congratulations
to Manuel Flores for winning the Silver Medal in super super heavy-wieght
blue belt division. Steve Wheeler won the Bronze in the blue belt
super super heavy-wieght division. Martin Escobar vowed out to his
instructor Rey Diogo, and brought back the silver in the absolute
senior black belt division.
